Cyprus Archaeological Museum

The Archaeological Museum of Cyprus is located in Nicosia. It includes findings from the prehistoric times to the early Christian period. Extensive excavations throughout the island have enriched the collections of the museum considerably and have brought Cypriot archeology to the forefront of international archaeological research. In the museum you can see items from the cultural heritage of Cyprus: pottery, jewelry, sculpture and coins from the Neolithic period to the Bronze Age, the Iron Age and the Greco-Roman period. Some of the most outstanding exhibits are the statue of Aphrodite of Soli and a collection of gold jewelry and residues from the royal tombs of Salamis.
